C25K Update: Days 2-3 of Week 2

Yesterday was Day 3 of Week 2 in our Couch to 5K training program. Day 2 was pretty uneventful. I managed to get through the whole thing without my toes going numb, so I think that's evidence my shoes are finally starting to break in. Hallelujah! It was pretty chilly on Day 2 also. I was able to wear my fleece pullover and not have to worry about putting bug spray on, which was nice.

Yesterday was still a bit chilly, but warmer than Day 2. I even bought some new workout clothes from Target the day before. It feels SO nice to wear shorts that actually fit me. I think my days wearing juniors size clothing are over. Hallelujah! I'm still XS/S, but I've advanced into the ladies department finally.

Do any of you remember Soffe shorts? They were pretty popular in the gymnastic/cheerleading world (neither of which I was involved in) and I remember getting a half dozen pairs or so when I was in college when I started exercising regularly. Needless to say I still have all of them (minus a couple pairs I gave away a while back for being too big not fitting) and they aren't as flattering as they used to be. They're just too short and give me forced muffin top! So, when I saw Target had Soffe-like shorts, I grabbed a pair to try on and it was SO nice to actually wear them on my waist line without feeling like all my internal organs are squashed. Not to mention I won't have to worry that I'm giving the neighbors a free show if I need to bend over or squat down to tie my shoe. I feel like purging all my old gym clothes now!!

Day 3 felt like more of an improvement and my toes didn't get numb by the end either, even though some slight tingliness at the start worried me. We've come to determine our distance tracker on our iPhone isn't providing accurate info because we ran farther than we had ever run before and it still said our distance was around the same as previous days. So, that's kind of frustrating. We still need to get armbands for our iPhones so we don't have to hold them in our hands and I'd love to get the C25K app for iPhone too so we don't have to set timers on the phone. It gets a bit tedious. I also think these would help once we've got our armbands. I may have upgraded to ladies size clothing, but my ears are still kid-sized!
