Good Old-Fashioned Life Update

I have been slacking lately on my writing, I know. Haven't been following my theme days either. That's okay because I feel like life has been progressing in a productive way. Here's an update.

  1. Monday - As Alan was getting ready for work in the morning I told him about a dream I had that involved Trinity admissions offering me a 4 hour part-time position. I was excited about it. Later that day I was organizing my coupon binder and realized I had a missed call. The director of Human Resources at Trinity called me to let me know the assistant position I had applied for was posted again and she wanted to reschedule our meeting. It's set for this Friday at 9 am! There I go having psychic dreams again! I also finally found a homemade macaroni and cheese recipe that works!
  2. Tuesday - Made pesto for the first time and used the food processor for the first time as well. We made a delicious dinner of spinach pesto pasta, pan-seared scallops, and roasted tomatoes. Thanks to my friend Allison and he bf who conjured up the recipe! Finished organizing my coupon binder. Alan's sick.
  3. Wednesday - Made chicken chili in the crockpot for the first time. It turned out great! I even had a few beans in my chili and 3 corn muffins! Haha. I keep forgetting to take pictures of all the new food I've been making. Had leftover macaroni that was still creamy even after reheating! Getting nervous about Friday's interview! Alan takes off from work because he's sick. Bought cream cheese to make oatmeal cream pies only to realize I need more oatmeal.
  4. Thursday - Attempting to make homemade chicken soup for Alan using bone-in chicken in the freezer. I've made chicken soup before, but usually with thighs, and I think the stuff from the freezer is a mix of dark and white meat. I'm also not sure if it has freezer burn or not.
  5. Friday - 9 am interview. I'll have to report back how it goes afterward. Pick up oatmeal to make cookies. 4 pm (OVERDUE!) hair appointment. First time getting a dry haircut with a "master hair stylist." We'll see if it's worth the money!
In other news...my dad got laid off last week. I can't remember if I posted about this or not. It's really sad. Pretty sure he got hired straight out of college and it was the only company he worked for! I talked to my mom today though and he's been getting some leads on potential job opportunities he may apply for from Germany, Chicago, Tampa, and Orlando. Hopefully he can find something he likes that's close to home because I know my mom isn't exactly thrilled with the idea of moving. She did say that he said he's done with governmental contracting jobs and wants to find something that he actually enjoys. So, good for him for looking at the bright side of things. I hope he finds something he really likes!

That's all for now. Pray for me this Friday! I would LOVE to get this job.
