Monday Musings

Well...I got 3 out of 7 days of writing done last week. It is REALLY hard. I wrote 2 blogs and finished some on the story I'm working on. I've reached a point where it's the uninteresting portion of the story, so I've been kind of putting off writing it. I have it mostly planned out what's going to happen in it, but it's just getting to the exciting parts I'm having trouble with. The in between "filler" stuff. I' not even sure this story is any good or will be something I want to show anyone. It's kind of based off of a dream I had one night and developed into a story idea in my head. It's different than other stories I've written. Maybe some would call it cheesy. I guess it depends on how it turns out in the end.

But anyway...I've got some things rolling around in my head this morning. Let's share!

• Alan and I went walking on the path that starts in our neighborhood. We didn't get to follow it all the way to the end because it was late in the evening and didn't want it getting dark while we were in the middle of the forest preserve. We did manage to walk about 1.6 miles though! I was sweating a bit near the end and the heat rash seemed to stay away for the most part. And I am SORE today, but enjoyed a good night's sleep last night!
• On our way home from grocery shopping a big dog ran in front of our car towards the lake. I said, "Woah, it's someone's dog!" and then Alan said it was a coyote. I'd been reading about them possibly roaming around our neighborhood because we live near the forest preserve, but this was our first sighting, not only in our area, but EVER!
• I need to fill out another job application today, which I'm sort of avoiding having to do. It's always scary putting myself out there. Will I get an interview? Will they like me? What if I get the job and don't like it? Will I be any good at it? We'll see how it goes. I need to write a cover letter too. Yuck.
• Alan and I watched this video and I couldn't help but cry from laughing so hard!
• We FINALLY managed to organize the guest bedroom this past weekend. Yay! Now it looks really empty because it just has a bed in it. I'm wondering if we might/should put a dresser in there for people to put clothes in when/if they're staying in there. There's absolutely no closet space left. Whatever it is, it needs to be cheap, but not junk!
• I'm loving all the critters that come to our back patio now to eat from the bird feeder! I told Alan we should get a birds of Illinois book so we I can start bird watching! On the way back to our car from church we're pretty sure we saw a canary flying! And I saw 2 new birds walking on the path I'd never seen before that had yellow wings. So many birds I've never seen before!
• Alan starts his new job in 2 weeks, thank goodness! We could use the extra funding after our move used up a lot of what we had! Got to pay the bills!!
• I need a new haircut badly! Anyone have any suggestions on new and easy styles?
• I found a live wasp in our kitchen cabinet last week. That's the 2nd one we've found in the house since moving here. There has to be a crack they're getting into somewhere. Yuck! I don't need to be stung and neither do the cats!

My musings today aren't really very exciting, I realize. I'll try to be better this week with writing!
